I recently started a part-time job. Lots of things went into this transition, but the number one thing was student loans. I don't often talk about money or student loans... who actually wants to talk about student loans, ha! But we have a goal and that goal is to pay off our student loans. We don't want to live within the bondage of debt, we don't want to be enslaved by the student loans we owe. Tyler and I both knew that getting a part time job meant paying off our student loans 100% faster.
There have been times in the past that I felt like getting another job would take away from my current dream, this space, and turning it into a sustainable business. But when I went looking for a part-time job, I prayed and looked for something very specific. I wanted to work with another small business. I wanted to learn from them. I wanted to be inspired by them. And that is exactly what has happened. I found a part-time job with a small business owner, another female entrepreneur and I plan on learning as much from her as I possible can.
I wasn't sure how the transition would go once I started this new job. I wasn't sure how it would effect my work and planning for this space, but I am happy to stay that I have a whole new drive and I was totally surprised by it. What I feared was that I would no longer be inspired or driven, but now I feel like I have a much clearer vision for what I want to happen, I feel like I have a stronger voice, and I feel like I'm taking more steps in the direction I want to go.
I still have plenty to learn. I still have a full to do list. I still have much work to do. But at the end of the day I am covered in grace. I know that what I want to build and accomplish will take time. Regardless of how long it takes me I will continue to press forward. Some things end up surprising us. Sometimes the things we fear end up driving us. xoxo. Samantha
