Hey guys, I thought it might be a good time to share a little bit about what's been going on behind the-scenes here at Elah Tree. I've had a lot of ideas and dreams coming together and I've been doing my best to get a handle on them and turn them into something actionable. If you've been hanging out here since the beginning of this space, and I'm talking way back in the beginning, like 2009, then you know of all the different creative ventures I've been down.

Things got started here with a foundation in photography. This is where my photography journey began and at that time this space was Elah Photography. I took a break from photography at the beginning of 2012 and took a break from this space as well. I came back at the beginning of 2013 and picked up with a new creative journey. That may have been when many of you first started reading. At that time I was ready to dive in and start an Etsy shop where I was making handmade goods. I did that for about a year and decided making handmade sewn items wasn't for me and in 2014 I dabbled a little in design and printable worksheets, those worksheets  are still in my shop, you should check it out. :)

The beginning of this year brought on a whole new set of changes and gave me ampletime to really think about this space and where I wanted to go. I had plenty of time to think about what I was really passionate about and what I was really good at. And that brings us to where we are now.

You may have noticed that lately there has been a lot of photography related content floating around this space and hopefully that gives you a good hint in the direction that we're going. For me, I'm going back to my roots and my first creative love, photography . For a long time I was hesitant about sharing more about photography, not because I didn't want to, but because I wasn't sure if it would be a good fit for me. I wasn't sure if I would be able to articulate my knowledge. But, after some encouragement from friends I started putting out photography related content sporadically, getting a feel for whether or not it was something that would be good for me. Over time, those photography posts turned into something that started to flow more naturally. Not only was I sharing what I knew, but I was learning as well, because articulating knowledge really forces you to dig deep. Not only did I want to share what I knew with you, but I wanted to learn more as well and I knew that if I was going to be learning something, then I wanted to be sharing it with you.

So today, I decided to share some of my current goals, which I'm rather nervous about... because you know... what if I fail? But in life, the only true failure is not trying. So, I'm putting it out there, I'm breathing life into my dreams as I share them with you, whew. Stick with me, won't you?

My hope is that this space will be your one stop shop for all things photography. The majority of content you'll find here will be related to photography; technical tips about your gear, shooting for blog posts, how to shoot for product reviews, how to pose in style shoots, product reviews of camera gear...  and anything else I can think of.

Included with photography content will be snipits of our life on the East Coast, tiny living, and my rad style. ;) Because I'm a human, and human stuff is fun to read about too, right?

I'm dreaming up fun stuff for the shop too. The current printables will remain in the shop, but I will also be adding digital prints too. A majority of the prints will be naturescapes! I decided on digital prints because I wanted you to have the freedom to be creative. If you want to make postcards with the prints, perfect, you can totally do that. If you want to print big canvases, perfect you can do that too. I wanted you to have lots of creative freedom.

The dreams just keep coming, ha! Something else I've been working on is creating an e-course all about photographing. This one feels a little beyond me, but I'm always telling my friends to go after those things that are beyond them because it's puts them in greater dependence on Jesus. So, here I am. I've been trying to determine what materials to cover in the e-course and really get a feel for what you guys are looking for, whew.

Lastly, I'm hoping to start offering services again.  I've been thinking about this one for a while and I spent a long time thinking about what kind of photography services I wanted to offer. And then it came to me.

I want to work with YOU!

I want to work with creatives and dreamers to help make their dreams come true. So what does that mean? It means I'll help you establish a strong photography presence for your brand, from head shots, to capturing you doing work and creating, to taking photos of your products. I want to work with YOU.

So, that's it for now. Although, I feel like I just unloaded on all of you. And yet, I still feel like I could talk for hours, but let's not over do it. We all only have so many hours in the day to read blog posts, and it's more like minutes, right? :) Guys, thank you so much for sticking with. This space has gone through lots of transition as I've journeyed down lots of creative roads. My hope is that all these goals will start taking shape within the next 6 months or so. And if you think of me, I would love your prayers as I travel down this road. xoxo. Samantha
