ROCKEFELLER

While in NYC we decided to hunt down Jimmy Fallon and become bffs. ;) What better place to get started then Rockefeller Center. We walked from Times Square to Rockefeller. It wasn't too far and as we walked we continued to snap pictures. While at a stop light we had a mini dance party with a car driver who was jammin out with his windows down. I like to think we made his day while we danced away to the tune he was playing.

When we arrived at Rockefeller Center, I stood and looked at Radio City Music Hall thinking of all the amazing performances that must have taken place there.  How fun, how exciting, how iconic. We snapped photos out front. There were pigeons, so many pigeons. And there was a beautiful fountain that we took tons of pictures in front of.  The streets were lined with tourists and we gazed at the neon lights while taking pictures under the signs.

Our last stop at Rockefeller was The Rink. I automatically thought of all the movies that I have seen this skating rink in. Amazingly enough it looked smaller then what I thought, but that's movie magic for ya. xo. Samantha 

VIRGILS BBQ IN NEW YORK CITY

I've heard many times now that the streets of NYC are lined with amazing places to eat. Places that have flavors from all over the world. We were in NYC for one day and we knew we would be eating lunch. I'm not sure too much thought went into our lunch choice except for one thing: location. We were in Times Square. We knew we would be eating some place close. Tyler mentioned a BBQ joint and my ears perked up. BBQ? Yes, BBQ please. Meg had mentioned that she had been to a BBQ joint during her last visit. We were all agreed. BBQ in NYC.

It was a quick walk from the center of Times Square and we arrived right before things became busy. We requested a window seat and we're sat up stairs over looking the city street. Were we sat was one of my favorite things. Looking in and you sense a feel of the Mid West. Looking at and you see the energy of the city.

We ordered one of those crazy huge three meat platters, which was an amazing choice. We all got to try different and tasty BBQ meats and it was easy on our wallets. Friends, when possible share plates, it's the best. I have a thing for potato salad and easily ate the small side it came with, so we ordered another, only to find out it was not a favorite for Tyler or Meg. ha! They both preferred the creamy mac and cheese.

We spent our time eating, chatting, and planning the rest of our day. It was lovely to take a break from the city streets. We warmed up, filled our bellies, and got ready for more adventures. What are some of your favorite NYC food joints? I need more recommendations. xo. Samantha

TIMES SQUARE : A NEW YORK MUST

Hello New York! This has been my first trip to New York and I sure hope it's not the last. I couldn't even begin to list all the places one should go when visiting New York, because I don't even know. When Tyler and I were planning our New York trip he listed out a bunch of different places and I simply had to respond Yes or No. Thank goodness I didn't have to create the list, I wouldn't have known where to begin.

Times Square was a must on our New York list. It just seems so iconic. You can't not go there. Tyler and Meg had both been to New York before, but I was the newbie in the group. Before our adventures begun Tyler and I had a chat about my anxiety. When we were in LA anxiety was something that I struggled with and it wasn't any fun at all. Overcrowded and overwhelming experiences were usually the cause of my anxiety and NYC could easily be both of those things. One of my favorite things about visiting NYC was that I didn't experience any anxiety at all.

Times Square was one of our first stops of the day and I had a great first experience. The minute we got there I kept exclaiming, "this is so fun!" And it truly was, I can't wait to go again! What are our favorite places to visit in New York? It's time to create a new list. xo. Samantha

CITYSCAPES : THROUGH NEW YORK CITY

New York City, the city that never sleeps. The history, the architecture, the lights, the cars, the people. There are so many things about New York. The streets are lined with buildings that reach for the sky. Brick faced buildings that carry stories and have history etched into their sides. The streets bustle with people, and busy taxis hustle through the streets. Come along for a walk through the city streets.
